fish finder fcv1150 software updates

I have a fcv1150 from around 2013. type cv 1150, freq 28khz- 200khz , ser # 2256-4828.
Is it a good idea to have the unit checked out and a software update if there were any?

If it is working well and you are not missing something that has been released with new software, I don't see any reason to disturb it.

If you have questions about its performance, you can always post pictures here and the acoustics experts can chime in.

Since your FCV1150 is a 2013 vintage, I'm guessing that the software that's currently loaded into your unit is V.3.03. The only update that I would recommend is V.4.03 that provides Bottom Hardness Output Sentence for TimeZero Professional. If you don't need to output this sentence, then I would leave your software version as it is...

Just added a airmar b509 and would like to know the tap settings that should be connected for the best efficiency with a fcv 1150 unit.

Is the 509 a Low/High, Low/Medium, or Low/High Wide?
The Low side is C.
High side depends on the answer to the question above.
High is C.
Medium is B.
High Wide is A.
