FI5002 Hub

The Mitten

Can someone explain to me how the FI5002 hub works? Does it have female plugs, or do you hard wire? My backbone is getting rather long with the Navpilot 300, TZT Navnet 2 and the soon addition of a FM4800 and SCX20.

Is it ok to have a 12" long nmea 2000 "bundle" of tees?

Thanks,

Kurt

The FI5002 has female plugs that you do need to "hard wire". You would need to cut the male plugs off of your drop cables and connect the bare wires into the screw "pinch" terminals on the FI5002. The manual is pretty user friendly and the plugs are color coded.

You really need to be careful when connecting multiple tees inline. They like to flex if they aren't screwed down or mounted properly in another way. The flexing can cause breaks in the line. They make tees that have four drops in one piece that are much more robust.
