FI5001 Wire

Hello! I have an FI5001 anemometer that has given up and I'm evaluating replacing it with an ultrasonic that will also give me temperature, humidity, and pressure in addition to wind. The new devices are N2k. My question is whether the existing cable used by the FI5001 is suitable for carrying an N2K signal. It looks like it's six strands and nmea2k only uses 5 but I'm unsure if it's grounded similar etc. Has anyone ever repurposed their old FI5001 mast cable as an N2K cable?

Thanks

I would advise against that. NMEA 2000 certified cables meet a rigorous standard that ensures everything works and continues to work well together.
That being said, we attempted something similar with our antenna farm for tech support and it failed after about a year.
