FCV588 mounting & transducer

Can the FCV588 fishfinder be flushmounted? Also, what are the negatives/positives of using a FCV-582 transducer?

The 588 could be flush mounted but there is no flush mounting kit that I know of. What transducer are you thinking of using?

I'm thinking of using the transducer from an old FCV-582, that way I don't have to mess with the hull.
I was told in another post that it would work.

Melville is correct in that your current transducer will work with the 588 (for fish finding). That being said the 588 has some features that the 582 didn't have, like ACCU-FISH and Bottom Discrimination. We recommend certain transducers for these modes, so that is why I asked if you knew what transducer you had.
