Hi
After a lot of looking choose the FCV 295 over the latest Garmin chirp.
Major capability I'm looking for is grouper fishing in 1200-1500 ft
My dealer has strongly recommended the 260 1 kW tm but I see on here your are recommending the 265 which I thought was a 260 with chirp capability

Getting it all installed Monday and would value your advice

Rangirocks,
Thank you for choosing the FCV-295, it will serve you well. All transducers have sweet spots or a range of frequencies that work better than others and that is the main reason I prefer the 265 over the 260. Below is a sweep test I did on the 265 a couple of years ago with a FCV-1100. However please know that the FCV-295 is blocked out from working from 53-65, 111-139 and 171-183Khz.

Thx snips
I'm curious to know why the dealer recommended the 260 over this. Also on the airmar site they don't give the 265 as an option for the 295???

Rangirocks,
It doesn't surprise me that Airmar doesn't list it. It is probably best to ask your dealer if they have had experience in your fishery with both transducers.
