I have an octopus pump type S. It has 4 wires. I believe red, black, green, and yellow. TB2 where they are going to only have 3 slots to wire it.

Normally reversible pumps will have two wires. We don't sell any four wires pumps. Do you have a wiring diagram or any ideal what the wires are?

The Octopus Pump Type S "Behind Dash Drive" pumps are typically not the types of pumps commonly used or associated with the NavPilot 711c. Rather, the pumps we use for the pilot are going to be more like Octopuses' Hydraulic Reversing Gear Pumps (see part no. PUMPOCT10-12).

I'd take another look at your helm and see how it interfaces, if you have some type of integrated steering - perhaps the pilot should be steering by a drive-by-wire setup instead. :sorry

Hope this helps, :sail

So I got an opportunity to talk this over with the autopilot master. In principle it should work, but let's take a look:  :wink7

Two of these wires are reversible pump wires, and the other wires are for a clutch. So in principle our best guess would be to wire the motor to motor and clutch to clutch. Yet, with that being said, it's unclear how the pilot would behave or whether or not it would actuate correctly. So the better idea might be to wire an independent switch to the clutch wires. Though, while that would be more reliable (because our pilot would drive like a normal reversible 12v) you as the captain would have to remember which mode the clutch was thrown in. You could get a lit-up led switch which was on when it was on, and off when it was off.

That's at least my thinking about the product, :sail
