With the new Bahamas requirements, I am now looking into AIS. New build later this year, planning on full Furuno suite using XL16 x 2. Wasn’t planning on AIS, but here we are. I understand the value of AIS receiving, but not interested in full time broadcast of my position.
Does Silent mode allow for receiving AIS data while eliminating broadcast of my data?
Do I need a separate switch (saw another thread with the wiring diagram) or can I control that through the XL?
