FA150 Transmitting messages

I have a FA150 AIS which has been updated for the GPS rollover date. I've been able to use the device to send messages to specific MMSI numbers but occasionally I'll get an "unsuccessful sent" error message. The MMSI message targets are nearby so not sure why it doesn't send the message. Does the receiving AIS device need to be set to receive messages?

The FA150 is a commercial product which normally isn't discussed here. What device are you trying to send the message out with (your commercial radar etc)? TZT units don't offer that message ability even when connected to a commercial AIS.

Johnny, I'm using the FA150 to broadcast navigational hazards. It seems to work when the message is a general broadcast but often fails when its sent to a specific MMSI address.

Yes, something you need to speak with your local Furuno commercial support with directly. Not something for this forum, but I am sure they will get you fixed up.
