FA 50 AIS Silent Wiring

For the FA 50 AIS transponder, there is a optional connect in the power wiring harness for silent (non transmit) operation. There is also the software select to enable or disable.

The question is: When hooking up this wire/contact switch, what is the swithed circuit contected to? I assume it would connect to ground to enable the "Silent" mode. Though I suppose it could be the positive contact.

I am just trying to figure out what the switch is supposed to connect to if it is enabled. I cannot find confirmation of this anywhere including my manual and online manuals.

Thanks in advance

You will need a simple toggle switch to connect (close) the two wires together to enable silent mode. When wishing to transmit you flip the switch the other direction (open) to have the unit return to transmitting.

Good morning Jim Calder,

A single pole, single throw switch can be used with the Purple and Grey wires.
