External antenna for GP-1971F DB9

I have a GP- 1971F DB9 plotter/ sounder and are looking to fit a NMEA 2000 external antenna. Do I have to stick with the Furuno option - 330 or will another brand NMEA 2000 antenna work - ie Garmin, Maretron, Raymarine etc

Other brand will work as long as it provides good standard PGN data. I always recommend checking that devices are certified by NMEA.org. They have a search to find if devices are certified.
