Error Message since upgrading to 6.21 software

Recently I purchased a boat with Furuno electronics and twin 200 hp 4 stroke.
As part of the sale conditions I asked to have the Furuno technician come and up grade all the software.

The Boat as 2x TZ2 Touch screens, auto pilot and two transducers.

The Tech upgraded the software to the latest version 6.21(I believe).

Unfortunately now I am getting an engine warning message in yellow across the screen which did no occur before the upgrade.

When we went into the Furuno engine management page we notice the engine temperature on engine 2 sitting at 354 degree, then the gauge would drop to zero and the n sit at 51 degrees and then jump back up to 354 degrees.

However the Yamaha controller Screen sits at the correct level the whole time.

The Furuno rep says he has checked the software and it is working fine and now there is nothing more they can do.

Has anyone else experienced this and can make a recommendation as to what I should do?

If you have a proper Yamaha interface, hopefully all you need to do is upgrade to the newest software listed on the Furuno USA website (6.26). There are some cables being sold that directly connects the Yamaha to the NMEA 2000 without proper interface. That cable would not be a good thing. If you have a proper Yamaha interface, you should be fine once you upgrade the software.

Thanks John, I appreciate you insight to this matter. I have contacted my Furuno Rep and they have sort of agreed it can be done, however they wont do it themselves. They are pushing for it to be done by a third party, this approach I don't really agree with as they owner the software and will only blame that third party if the software doesn't fix the problem.

Does that interface (Cable) have a part number so I can check it and source if necessary?

Today I installed the new Software upgrade to 6.26 but unfortunately the error message still exists.

Does anyone have the part number for the Yamaha interface module?

I can't encourage you enough to look at the document link provided my previous post. The Yamaha interface part number is 6YG-8A2D0-00 as shown in that document for the listed engines. If your engines are not listed, I would refer you to Yamaha for proper interfacing to standard NMEA 2000 data.
