Engine displays: FI70 vs. plotter

Hello all

I am looking for a couple of new engine data displays for my flybridge. The data is already on the N2K network, but I'm looking for the best way of displaying the data for each engine. I have a 70cm wide x 17cm high area to fit 2x displays.

I'm considering a couple of FI70 units which looks like they do what I need, but they are smaller than I would like so the detailed engine data is not easily visible from a distance. Another option might be a couple of 7" or 9" plotters but I can't really justify buying 2x TZT3s just to display engine data.

Do any of the less expensive Furuno plotters display engine data in the same way as the FI70 (but on a larger screen) or is the FI70 the best display for the job?

Many thansk,

Tom

The GP1871F/GP1971F Combo units can display exactly what the FI70 displays. The GP1871F has a 7" display and the GP1971F has a 9" display, compared to the 4.1" screen on the FI70. So you would be able to see everything you need from farther away.

Hope this helps :D
