DRS4W - blanking option?

New to the forum and just bought the DRS4W. This is a magnetron 4K unit. When I select the sector blanking option, is the radar actually cutting transmission in that sector with this particular unit, or is it merely ignoring signals it is receiving. It would be ideal if I could cut emissions in that selected blanking quadrant.

It's not transmitting in the blanking sector zone.
