DRS4D Testing in a Metal Building

It seemed like last time I was out my DRS4D was acting up. My boat is parked/stored in a metal building and I wanted to know if I run it in the building to do testing if it's harmful to the magnetron, etc? Thanks.

Too many variables to say but it is doubtful to cause any damage. If it did, it would be on the receive side not the transmission side. It might tune down the radar due to the strong radar reflections. It isn't recommended. You will not get a good radar image transmitting inside.

Thanks for the info Johnny. I'll just not turn it on when in the building to be safe. Took the boat out yesterday and the radar was working fine. It did take a while to auto adjust things before it was working optimally so perhaps I accidentally turned TX on when it was in the building which jacked up the auto settings?

Anyway, glad there is no problem.
