DRS-25A STRENGTH REDUCED

First trip of the year and I barely have any signal strength? Not sure why or where to start looking.
I did factory reset. and I did manual gain to 100% with no better results.
I am using with a TZT2BB and am planning on the update installation this week.

Any advise?

Ensure your rain filter is all the way to zero and the clutter is all the way to zero as you attempt to manually run the gain up.

The mainbang suppression being set to 50 is quite high but not your problem. If this is truly a DRS25A it has been around awhile and it might be time for a new magnetron. When was the last time a magnetron was replaced in this radar?

I bought it used, so no clue on that. I do have another one that I was unable to update the software on.
Can I change the magnetron, between the two, myself?

If you have an FCC licence and the skills to do it, I don't see why not. (Assuming that other magnetron is good)

Could I just change out the circuit boards between the two? That way keep the update version the same.

To finish this thread out. I replaced the 4 circuit boards from the radar that I couldn't update with the radar boards from my existing weak radar with success. Radar is working strong as ever.
