Is there a way of changing this in the setup? Attached is a screen shot of whales passing down the starboard side of the vessel.

Pleiades,
At the top of the transducer set-up page you will find a setting called "Transducer Mis-Mount".
This reverses the transducer orientation if it has been mounted backwards.

Thanks I will have a look at that. Can you also tell me why on the triple beam display that the image is strong left an right but weak in the centre, I would have thought it would be strong on one side becoming weaker in the middle and weakest on the opposite side?

Pleiades,
What are the beam angles and widths of the triple beam set at?

Snips

Beam angle is 50 and width is 40. Also when I checked the transducer mis match was on so I guess it was install correctly all along.

Pleiades,
Never tried 50 and 40 before, depending on the depth of I will use 40/40 in shallower waters and 30/30 in deeper waters.

I am using it to find bait for game fishing in 150 - 200 ft of water so I figured that 50 and 40 would give me the best coverage. I don’t really understand how the beams work, if they overlap or not and if they are in the same cross section of water. The diagrams I have seen don’t clarify.

Pleiades,
Depending on how they are set they can overlap. Setting them at 40-40 sets the middle beam from 20 port to 20 stbd, the port beam from 20-60 and the same with the starboard.

Pleiades,
The 40/40 only affects the triple beam view.
The 3D view and cross section are always 120 degrees.
