DFF1 Transducer Compatibility

Hi...could you please tell me if a DFF1 is compatible with the 524ST-MSA transducer ? I am being offered the xducer as "new old stick"
Thanks

Aquabelle,
The 524ST-MSA should have had an 8-pin plug on the end of it. If it did, you can use our 8-pin to 10-pin adapter cable to connect to the DFF1. The part number is AIR-033-204.

Thanks Snips...And yes it doesn't have an 8 pin plug and as luck would have it I already have an 8 to 10 adapter cable. What data do I loose if any with the 8 pin plug vs newer 10 pin models? And any general comments on the quality of this transducer ?

Aquabelle,
The 524ST-MSA has a single element that resonates at 50/200khz. That element is used a variety of 600 watt transducers and it's beam width is around 42 degrees (50Khz) and 12 (200Khz). Because it has only one element and wide BW it the starting point for transducers.
Below is a comparison I did years ago with a similar transducer (525ST-MSC). In the screen shot I didn't change any settings, only the transducer.
