Dff1 any advantage over 587?

I have a vx2 navnet 12 inch display and an fcv-587.

The 587 is running an m260 transducer.

Would the vx2 have any advantage regarding performance over the 587 if hooked up the vx2 to the m260 using a dff1? Obviously it has a bigger screen, but lower resolution.

There won't be any advantage to using the older DFF1 over the newer FCV587. Both are 600w-1KW sounders. The FCV587 offers some advanced features that the DFF1 and Vx2 don't offer. The only possible advantage is the saving of space on the dash as you are able to share the Vx2 screen rather than have another screen mounted.
