Depth difference question?

I’m able to run my 2d sonar (b175hw) and my side scan (455) and both screens show the same water depth while moving. When I pull into neutral the side scan depth reads ~3’ depth. When I go back in gear it straightens out after a little time (not much but not immediately).
I haven’t tried shutting off the 2d transducer to see if the side scan reads fine. I typically run both at the same time but there may be a time I want a full side scan and at that point it would be important for me to know the actual depth if I was drifting.
Has anybody else noticed this. I’m assuming it might just be a transducer adjustment or setting change???
Thanks

What depth source do you have selected in your data source page?
The Side-Scan does not produce a depth reading itself as it looks sideways, not down. It utilizes whatever is selected as your preferred source to display a depth digit on the image.

I’ll have to check that. I assumed the side scan transducer was giving that reading 🤷‍♂️. Even still not sure why it would change drifting vs in gear??

This is the setting for depth. It isn’t picking a transducer but is specifying the only display installed 🤷‍♂️ Also note when the mix and match transducer wasn’t working (didn’t give a depth) I had a depth on the side scan screen even though I wasn’t getting any picture. When we disconnected the B175M mix and match transducer the side scan worked as it should and I had a correct depth reading.
