Recently purchased a new boat with a MFD8 and 12. I don't think the PO was on top of loading the latest maps etc. I was hoping you could confirm the most up to date free files/charts I should have installed for the latest and safest vector and raster charts for the puget sound and San Juan island. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First I would recommend you are using http://www.FurunoUSA.com website and not http://www.Furuno.com for information. Under the NN3D products there is a nice guide about charts and installing them for the NN3D. (Direct link below) If you get the newest versions of NOAA Vector and Raster for that area loaded; I think it will give you most anything you need. In a few cases the fishing crowd might want to have a licence to the C-map bathy for that area if you don't already have it. You can always call tech support with your system ID to see what might be already be licenced/purchased for the system.
