Cone Angle with Accufish

FCV 628 question. When using AF I understand it alternates between HF and LF partly to determine fish size. What cone spread is in force..? Does it only report targets found in the HF cone..? in other words, those seen by both HF and LF. ....or does it report targets outside the HF cone but inside the LF.
If the former then it is effectively "limited" to the narrower HF cone and searching for scarcer fish might be better at times using Dual Frequency..?

Or have I confused myself..? My operational need is to search for small groups of 50-80cm fish in 15-20 M of water and how to make use of AF without reducing my search effectiveness by limiting myself to the narrower HF cone...?

Good morning Mindi,

The FCV628 when using AF uses both the high and low frequencies to determine fish size. The fish will need to appear in both the low and high frequency beam angle in order for the filter to determine the fish size.
