could you discuss the clutter curve?

Seems i get the clearest pic in linear or std.
when i switch to the s h l it saturates the screen its unusable.

The Clutter settings are used to reduce weaker returns. Like TVG, the lower the setting the more "stuff" you will see the in water column. When you are adjusting the Clutter settings, I recommend looking at the color bar graph that will appear in the window. The lower the setting the longer the color bar becomes and the more Clutter (weaker returns) you will see being displayed.
The difference between LINEAR and STD curves is that LINEAR gives equal weight to all the 16 colors, where the STD (standard) gives more weight towards the harder colors i.e. yellows, orange, red and brown.
