CH-600 searchlight sonar Vs 8L Omni

Hello,

I am looking for some real world input from someone who has experience with both of these units. Obviously, the Omni if far superior, BUT, can the searchlight be used in a similar manner to track individual fish? Or does the slow refresh rate an need to adjust the beam up/ down in the water column make this a difficult task? I am primarily interested in tracking individual billfish and bait.

Anyone have some real world experience they could share? PMs welcome.
