The best place for our F3 processor is mounted horizontally and upside down under a cabinet. I noticed that the really big heat sink fins are on the bottom now and was wondering if I need to install a fan to help with cooling, or if it is even advisable to mount this unit upside down?
Thanks for your time and your advice.

sparkychuck,

The WASSP DRX can be installed on a bulkhead, desktop, or deck. The DRX should be mounted vertically on a bulkhead. Here are some important considerations when installing the WASSP DRX:

  • A vertical position is ideal for optimal thermal performance (ensure that the WASSP Transducer Connectors are facing down).
  • If mounted in an enclosed space, forced ventilation is required to maintain an ambient temperature around the DRX.
  • If the DRX is Horizontal Mounted, always be sure to leave slack in the cables for DRX maintenance, servicing, and checking purposes. Always leave sufficient space at the sides and the rear of the DRX installation location
