Hi guys,
A friend that had an old Furuno setup ( radar, fishfinder, autopilot) just upgraded to the new Furuno system with the tzt2 and navpilot and radar. He is pleased with the new system features but has been complaining that whenever he chooses to go to a waypoint and hits "go to" on his tz2touch mfd, the boat over steers passing the waypoint bearing and then slowly starts to steer towards the waypoint.
How can this issue be addressed?
Thanks

What model auto pilot?
What type of steering system?
What heading source is being used for the plotter and the pilot? (ensure they are the same)
Does the heading and COG match when the boat is moving 3 knots or better?
It the pilot setup for Course or XTE navigation?
It almost sounds like the RRU setup wasn't done correctly.

That includes tzt touch 12 inch + pg 700 integrated sensor + dff3d with multibeam sensor + open array radar dr6a-nxt radar + navpilot-711c autopilot + hydraylic pump for autopilot + hub + p66 transducer.
Thanks Johnny will have him check the RRU setup

Have him redo the RRU setup, then leave the setup and look at the rudder while turnning each direction slowly ensuring he sees every single degree port and every single degree starboard reflected. If the RRU is working good, then re-run the rudder test and ensure it passes the test. Then take it on a sea trial and do the "Set Center" of the Sea trail menu while driving a straight course. That should line everything up. It sounds like his RRU setting is off and the pilot doesn't realize it going off course until the cross track error starts growing then it starts applying correction. If the RRU is lined up properly, it should not go off course like that in the beginning.
