AP 511 with Hamilton Jets and Hinckley Jetstick

I have a two Hamilton Jets that interface in with a Hinckley Jet Stick. AP is 511, length of Vessel of 52'.

When the jetstick is in Helm mode, and I engage the AP 511, it attempts to steer it. The issue is that it starts to track left and right, as it should with autopilot, but with each successive left/right, it starts to move further and further away. So, first left/right may go 10 degrees each way, second one may go 30 degrees each, etc till I get a deviation warning then it nearly goes in a circle.

I put the same request in a user group of owners, and they mentioned that the AP may have been reset, which I do not know as I am a relatively new owner to this vessel, and it is a sensitivity issue, as the Hamilton jets are substantially more responsive than a normal power boat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sandog,

In having to deal with both the NAVPILOT 511 and the NAVPILOT 711C, it all depends what Hamilton Jet System that you onboard your vessel.

If its the Blue Arrow System, then you have to get Hamilton Jet Dealer involved because they typically have to program the Blue Arrow via PC to ensure there is the correct handshaking inputs and outputs from the Hamilton Jet needed for the integration with the Autopilot.

The larger MEC Systems are easier to program, but it all still needs to be done by a local Hamilton Jet Servicing Tech.
