Adjusting time for averaging SOG

We have a new TZ Touch3 system. When drift fishing, the SOG updates are so rapid that we cannot get a read on our true drift speed. it very quickly jumps from 0.2 kts to 1.8 kts and everything in between with any rocking of the boat. Is there a way to adjust the averaging time to a longer period for SOG to smooth out the readouts to a true average SOG?

Are you using a SCX-20 or the internal GPS?
