I have acquired a 1984 Automatic DF badged Furuno FD-171, manufactured by Taiyo.
I also have the loops.
I am trying to restore it so that it can be displayed in a local museum.
I deperately need the operating manual and also the service manual.
Neither Furuno Japan nor Taiyo Japan seem able to assist.
My background: British Merchant Navy (aka Mercantile Marine in USA) Radio Officer with Marconi Marine from 1965-1971 in the 25wpm Morse code era.
Now a Radio Amateur GW4XXF my shack is a working reconstruction of a Radio Room of my time at sea.
