Active Captain Account

I am trying to activate my Active Captain account on my TZ 2 but keep getting Login Failed! I've double checked my wi fi connectivity and have gone online and reset my AC password. Frustrating, hard to troubleshoot. Any ideas?

The new owner of Active Captain (Garmin) has made some recent changes to the API used to obtain data from the site. Furuno is working with Garmin on the new process. This feature is expected to be restored sometime in the future. In the meantime, all shipping units are shipped with the the most current database we have. If you deleted the database by mistake it can be loaded using the software and instructions on our website. The ability to do a live update isn't currently possible due to the recent changes implemented by the data provider.
 
We were away from our boat from last July until this June, after the API change. Will the Active Captain POI database file from Furuno be more current than July 2017? Or should we just wait until Furuno provides software update?
 
Yes it will be more current. If you wish to update the database and instructions are posted under "Software" on the product page.
 
I understand that the active captain database cannot be updated but the failure to login problem also keeps you from seeing the information that is currently in the old database too. When I select info on an active captain icon it says I need to activate my user account which I (like to OP) can't seem to get to work. Is there a work around for this?

At this time, no.
I asked Japan the same question.
Hopefully they will provide a work around or adapt the software to the new changes.
