Accu Steer HFP11 life expectancy

Hello i am planing a long trip and i will rely on the Furuno Autopilot to steer the sailboat most of time in the Pacific. I understand the electronic can fail at any time but also can work almost forever without any problem. The pump is much more at risk of wear and tear. Mine currently has about 1000 hours of operation.

Question : what is the life expectancy of such a pump ?

I did have an Accu-steer Rep a few years ago tell me that if you do these following tips, you should have thousands of hours (his words, not mine.) of service life with their pumps.

1. Inspect the entire steering system for leaks monthly.
2. Verify the condition and adequate oil level of the system. Always looking for any water, dirt, grime, etc. that might be contained within the oil.
3. Inspected of the Pump-set Motor Brushes & Winding every two years.
4. Visually inspect the Pump-set wiring & cables for any type of corrosion or damage.
