711C Fishhunter Parameters

I have a 711C autopilot on a inboard commercial fishing vessel. When fishing I primarily use the orbit function. The lowest setting range is 0.05. This is approximately a 600 ft. overall circle. 300-400 ft.circle would be ideal for the fishery I’m in. Several fishermen and I have been to the bigger boat shows here in Florida over the last couple of years talking to Furuno representatives about the need to make these parameters smaller. This is a great rugged autopilot besides that. Maybe some thoughts from the moderators?

I will pass that information onto our Product Development team for further review. I checked on our 711C and can see the same thing. Cannot see a way to get it lower then that.

Thank you very much! I believe this would benefit Furuno with more sales if they could compete with Garmins GHC20 autopilot that can be set to a smaller orbit circumference. I appreciate your time.

Heard rumors of a possible 711C update? Any truth to this? Would be nice if they finally addressed the issue I posted about above. Would make a lot of us orbit fisherman happy! Thx for your time guys!!!

Suggestions get a bit more attention from product development if posted under the suggestions topic area because that is where they tend to look. Because you can adjust the turn angle selection of the NP711C of the fishing patterns, just about any desired tightness is possible. If not working for you, I would recommend a post being specific in what isn't working for you in the suggestion topic area. The only new pilot software I am aware of involves the NavPilot 300 for adding SUZUKI Drive modes. I haven't heard anything about the 711c getting new software. You might need to go back to your rumor source on that.

.05 is the smallest diameter you can set the 711C and the Navpilot 300 in Orbit Mode, which is a 600 foot circle! That is way to big to stay on top of a school of fish! That in my eyes is the only problem with these AP’s. Why they did that is beyond me! Thx!
