588 transducer

What transducers are best for the 588 when bottom fishing from 100-600 meters of water. I am familiar with the tm260 however are any of the chirp transducers worth considering??

Long ago we tested a 585 with a B-265 just to see the results. Since the B-265 has separate LF and HF we needed to use a MB-1100. The MB-1100 was not designed for a B-265 so there is an impedance mis-match.

Cheers Snips, so am I correct in saying that for the 588 the only 1kw that can be used to the intended potential is the tm260 or 258 and their equivalents? I am assuming from what you have said the ss175l will not be of great use due to the fixed 50khz frequency on the 588?

The FCV-588 is 600 or 1000W depending on the transducer. Below is a screen shot from the testing we did with a B-265 on the LF side. As you can see there was quite a performance decrease.
