50Bl-12HR Transducers

Have purchased a fibreglass boat with a 50BL-12HR transducer that came with the boat but never installed. I haven’t come across this type before and can’t find much information about it. How are they installed?

If you do a quick search using CA50BL-12HR you can find how the transducer was designed to be mounted.

I was hoping i would be able to glass it in an make it a thru hole?

Can you mount it in a pocket, sure, but it is recommended (and designed) to be mounted in an external transducer tank.
