Planning on installing a DRS12ANXT radar on a 27' center console and wondering if I will see any noticeable differences if I go with a 3.5' antenna vs a 4'? I can fit the 3.5' right now but if I go with the 4' I will have to move some other things currently mounted on the top. I obviously know the narrower beam width would be better but is it worth all the extra work?

It would be hard to notice the difference like you see from 3.5 to 4. I don't think I would go to a lot of trouble to move things around for the extra 6 inches.

I think it's mostly aesthetic / practical.
There is a difference in detail between 2' dome, 3.5-4 array, and 6' array.
I think the proportions of the 4' antenna atop the gearbox are pretty perfect. If the gearbox were about 1.5" smaller in each direction, the proportions of the 3.5' antenna atop the gearbox would be beautiful, and perhaps make the boat look a tiny bit bigger too.
