Greetings,
I have a question about the two nmea dataports. Is it possible to put multiplexed nmea strings on one of these ports (for example with GPS position strings and AIS target information)

I will be enabling ARP and AIS on this radar and so need three different nmea messages. Being able to multiplex the strings will free up one port and cable.

I do realize the heading string will have to be on the heading port and will be using a nmea string for this. From what I understand the 1835 will accept nmea or hd10 etc in to the hdg port.

Thanks

Depends on the data; but when connecting AIS it becomes an AIS port only. You will need to put position on the other NMEA port. Heading is never allowed anywhere but the dedicated heading point. You are correct that heading can be input via NMEA 0183 or via AD10.

Thanks for that. Another question: the port that will receive AIS will be able to accept the AIS strings at 38.4 kbaud correct?
Thanks again
