1815 AIS integration

I have an 1815 Radar connected in the following manner:

  • HDG sensor, GPS, and AIS VHF - all NMEA2000 ->>
    Actisense NMEA2000 to NMEA0183 converter ->>
    1815 NMEA 0183 Input 1

Set the converter to 38400 baud.

With the VDM sentence disabled in the Actisense converter, the heading and position are displayed correctly on the radar, and the AIS menu is greyed out. If I enable the VDM sentence, the AIS menu becomes active but heading and position disappear and no AIS targets are displayed.

Is it physically possible for the radar to receive all of this data on one port or does the AIS data need to be fed separately to another input?

I have 2 10" Vx2s, I presume by what I just read above, that only one of my machines is displaying AIS, it must have been plugged into Data 1?

AIS will not process at all unless into the proper port. If showing on the one, it should show on the others assuming they are both at the same software level. It could be the other has target trails turned off or AIS set not to display.

In the menu for the display pages, It is greyed out. When on the boat next ill double check the data 1 and 2 plug selections on the machine that works. Ty
