NMEA heading data to FA-150

I have a FURUNO PG-1000 heading sensor that used to be plugged using the AD-10 port to my FA-150 AIS. The AD-10 port on the PG-1000 has a bad contact and the heading data is missing in certain conditions (I have replaced the cable so problem comes from the AD-10 plug).
I would like to use the NMEA port on the PG-1000 to output heading data to my FA-150 (the NMEA port never failed so far).
However I have tried different conventional way for NMEA0183 to wire the PG-1000 to the FA-150 but nothing seems to work. I also have changed the port settings in the FA-150 from "AD-10" to IEC 61162-1.

Does someone know how to output NMEA from PG-1000 to a FA-150?

Unfortunately the Pg-1000 does not output NMEA data that compatible with the FA-150.

I Would recommend to output AD10 heading data from the PG1000 to the FA150.
This will result in Faster data for the A.I.S

I used the AD10, I could not get the NMEA0183 to work when I tried.

It supposedly works with NMEA 0183, I tried and resorted to AD10. When looking at the manual, it sure looks like the HDG is supposed to be inputted using AD10

It is strange that we can't input NMEA heading data to the FA-150.
Anyway it seems that I need a new heading sensor since the AD-10 plug is damaged on my PG-1000.
I saw the new NMEA2000 PG-700 heading sensor. Is there any way to convert NMEA2000 to AD10 data then?
 
The FA150 is a Deepsea commercial product that has special requirements for it's NMEA 0183 input. Although the PG1000, PG500 and other devices put out NMEA 0813, the talker ID is rejected. If using the PG1000 or PG500 on a non-metal boat, you should use the AD10 data output. Concerning the NMEA 2000 PG700, the data could be converted with two additional devices (adding more cost) but you are better off using the PG500 which offers an AD10 output at a lower price.

Just curious about the metal boat comment. Is that all metals or just steel? I have been using a PG500 with the AD10 output on my aluminum boat.
