transducer help

Capt David

Furuno Fan
I'm looking for the best bronze through hull transducer to use with the DFF3D for bottom fishing up to about 300ft. I have a 275lhw, but I like the idea of side scanning. What would be my best choice or am I not using a DFF3D properly for its intended use? Thank you

Capt. David,
What sounder do you have the 275 paired with?

The 275LHW will probably be hooked up to a Garmin 7616XSV. I'm adding two new Furuno TZT14 units and considering the DFF3D. Am I better off installing a DFF1-UHD or DFF1 for the best bottom view for wrecks, and structure? I would assume I need a narrow cone. This is a new build.

I'm trying to decide the same thing...having a hard time deciding which transducer for dff3d. Here are the current options:

165T-B54 Bronze Thru-Hull Multi-beam Transducer
165T-SS54 Stainless Thru-Hull Multi-beam Transducer
165T-TM54 Transom Mount Multi-beam Transducer
165T-50/200-SS260 DFF3D 50/200 Stainless Combination Thru-Hull
165T/265LH-PM488 DFF3D/CHIRP Combination Pocket
165T-50/200-TM260 DFF3D 50/200 Combination Transom Mount

Capt. David,
You should be able to do everything you want with the DFF3D. You will be able to split the display and have a 120 degree view in one window and then have a single beam display that is 20 degrees in another.
