hi moderators,
I was excited to start jumping on the forum to be able to ask questions to get the most out of my electronics
I am a loyal furuno fan!
I am a full time commercial fisherman in maui Hawaii,
Here we have very little support being on a small island,
Have I done something wrong to get no reply?
Or am i just being impatient!
sorry but just looking to order transducer now as our bottom fishing season has just started.
thank
Adam

Mauiadam,
The FCV-1200 is still a good machine and will match well with the R-509LH although you might what to consider the LM. I think a medium frequency may have more benefits than a narrow HF.

I have the dff3d which runs on 165 frequency
That’s why I thought the low high would be better
What do you think
Thanks
Adam

Mauiadam,
If you want to use it to look for thermoclines and plankton layers that ok. I thought you were trying to look for fish.

Snips

yes i am !
just new to targeting bottom fish in general
so you think the 80 -130khz is better than the 130 -210khz for picking up bottom fish in depth range of 80 to 130fathoms
thanks

Mauiadam,
Yes I do. I would start by trying the 75-80Khz range of that transducer.

Ok
I will get the 509 lm
I will post a couple of pics of the bottom of my boat
Would love to see what you think on the best mounting location
As I already have the dff3d thu Hull trans on my keel in what I would call my sweet spot
I will let the pictures do the talking
Thanks for the fast replies
Cheers
Adam
