I am not able to read the bottom while on plane. I loose it anytime I go over 10 or so mph. My previous units have always worked while running. I currently have this set up Furuno 8.4" FCV588

with 525T-LTD/20 Bronze Thru-Hull Transducer with Temp, 600W (10-Pin), 20° Tilted Element

Am I missing something within the settings?

thank you.

I just installed the exact same set up a few weeks ago. I tested it initially in fresh water and the unit worked perfectly, reading bottom travelling up to 30mph. Took my first trip to salt yesterday and have the same issue....anything over 10mph the unit completely loses bottom. Screen pretty much goes blank (except for just some "static") and auto range jumps to 4000ft. Nothing in front of the transducer to disrupt water flow and unit set to salt water.

I have the same question as Narcosis. What am I missing?

If your sounder works a slow speeds and loses bottom at higher speeds or on plane it is almost assuredly turbulence. (Air)
It can be from something like intakes, lifting strakes, poor fairing, or excess sealant at the transducer.
