GP1871f temperature

Hello. I have a GP1871f connected to a B744V transducer. My water temp is reading 300 degrees F. It actually switches back and forth between 300 and -300. Is there a way to test the temp sensor to find out if it has failed? Thanks.

It sounds like your temp sensor in your transducer is damaged. I would recommend ohming out that the thermistor pins of the transducer (pin 4 and 7) to see what you read. Most temp sensors will read between 10k and 12k ohm. If yours reads way off then the transducer temp sensor is bad.

Thanks. Sensor was bad. I installed the speed/temp kit and it works great now.
