PG500

I have a PG500 from 2005 on my sailboat in a 2005 Furuno NavNet VX2 system. I see in the on-line manual it will output NEMA 0183. I am replacing the NavNetVX2 with a Nema 2000 system, can I reuse the PG500 as a compass and heading sensor with an Actisense converter?
