RDP-148 interface with GP-7000F

RDP-148 interface with GP-7000F

Postby Luhrschuck » Sun Apr 23, 2017 4:01 pm

I have an RDP-148 I use for my radar. I also have a GP-7000F I use for a GPS/Sonar. Can I interface them and be able to see the GPS/Sonar data from the 7000 on the RDP-148? If so what connection do I make for the interface. Thanks!!

You can never see the sonar picture from the GP7000F on the RDP-148 or see the radar picture from the RDP-148 on the GP7000F. You can feed NMEA data between the two units. For example the Depth/temp numbers can be shared from the GP7000F to the RDP-148 with wiring the two up together via NMEA 0183. This way you should see DEPTH or TEMP in a data box.

Johnny,
Thanks that helps. If I hook the two together by the NMEA. Do I still need the GPS antenna on the 148 or can the 148 use the data from the 7000F for position?

Thanks!

You could have the RDP148 use the position from the GP7000F if you wish.
