Raymarine GPS data to FCV-588

I'm wanting to connect my 588 to my Raymarine C97 unit so I can have GPS data supplied to mark a waypoint on the 588. Is anyone able to confirm that I need to connect the NMEA yellow and green wires on the furuno NMEA cable for the GPS input?
What does the TD-A,TD-B and RD-A,RD-B acronym stand for? Is it transmit data and receive data with A and B channels?
In the NMEA 0183 menu settings do I need to select any particular version of NMEA and also do I turn the NMEA port to IN/IN only?
Appreciate any info and many thanks in advance.

Here is the decoder ring for reading the Furuno interconnection diagrams typically at the back of the manual (pg S-1).

TD = Transmit Data
RD = Receive Data
A = +
B = -
H = Hot/High/+
C = Cold/Common/-
SD = Send Data
SG = Signal ground

In your case, the Yellow RD-A (+ receive) and RD-B (- Receive) are the NMEA 0183 RS422 Input wires.
