Hi, my unit is dead.
I would like to keep all my waypoints.
I try to read data on SD card with some app like Maxsea Timezero and openCNP, but impossible to read C-MAP .

Where is store the waypoints ? On GPS unit or in SD card ?

Thanks.

the waypoints are usually stored internally on the machine but can be transferred certain ways via NMEA 0183 or external storage device like an SD card or USB drive.

In order to fully give you technical advise I would first need to know the following questions:
What Furuno unit is bad?
What Furuno unit are you trying to take waypoints from?
What Program or unit are you trying to send the waypoint data to?

The unit is definitively out of order, so if the waypoints are stored internally, no way to recover them ?

Please note that some units have a memory battery and when that battery expires , you can be sure that you will lose all your Waypoint and Data information.

Most memory batteries will last approximately for around five years. And once it's gone, all that information will lost. So a word of advice, always learn how to back-up any of your Waypoint and Data Information, and back-up that information early, and often..! :angry
