GP 1850WP Refurb?

Greetings from Florida's Sun Coast!

My friend has a GP 1850WP that needs some care. He doesn't have a 'puter, therefore I volunteered to do some inquiries.

First issue is that as he approaches a waypoint the screen will jump around although the heading hasn't changed. Yes, we're familiar with WP chasing. This is much more erratic and defies our logic.

Lastly, the internal battery message has reared it's ugly head.

Our questions are:
- where can we ship the unit for repair/refurbishment?
- packing instructions (C-MAP or not)?
- approximate co$t?

You can also check with MacKay Marine in Tampa or Sigma Marine in Tarpon Springs as they have both repaired this product in the past.

It varies.

Your friend can contact service , but it could be a week or two, depending on time of year.
He can also check with the 2 local dealers I mentioned.
