1870f map card question

For the 1879f, does the cmap card have to be loaded in the SD slot each time the plotter is turned on to be able to access the cmaps? Can the cmap card be loaded into internal memory and stored once the plotter is turned off, so that once the card is removed and the plotter is powered up afterwards without the card, the cmaps are accessed internally?

Note: The cmap card that I have is already unlocked to allow viewing of the detailed local maps and VAD.

The information on the C-Map SD card is not loaded onto an internal hard drive. It is read from the card itself. So yes, it must be inserted into the machine when you turn it on.
