1870f

I just purchased a 1870f. I am trying to figure out why I can not zoom in more than a couple mile scale. I do not have a chart card yet . Could that be why? Any help appreciated.

By default the chart lock is "On" to prevent over-zooming of the chart. Without a chart card in the unit, the basic included high level chart will not allow you to range/zoom in closer. (Which might cause the chart to be inaccurate at some zoom levels) You can either add a chart and gain better details and ranges or you can turn your chart locking "off" in the settings. With the lock off, you can range in VERY close and get right on top of any points that you set. (MENU - MAP - MAP CONFIG - CHART LOCK=OFF) You might also have to change your MAP CONFIG to CUSTOM to customize your map settings in this menu.

I will give it a try tonight. I did try to unlock under map menu but wouldn't allow me to change it but i will try change map config.
