how do you replace the memory battery on the GP-1650w chartplotter. the manual only explains what it does and gives a code # for the battery but no instructions on actual replacement
The internal battery is not user replaceable. It is normally replaced by a trained dealer or the factory service center. If this is something you feel you want to attempt yourself, you could use the disassembly instructions shown in the installation manual (not the operators manual) where it talks about installing the DGPS beacon receiver. The Battery is soldered to the main board so replacement is normally best left to the dealer.
