how to draw a line on a GP 1850

Can you tell me how to draw a line between 2 way points on a GPS 1850? I want to outline areas that are closed to fishing and I can not find up to date charts for the 1850.

You should be able to do this using the Marks menu.

In section 4.2 it describes making a line. It has been a while since I've used an 1850 but give this a try.

Concerning locating a new chart card; You would talk to the chart dealer (Navionics or C-map) to purchase a chart for your area. Furuno doesn't sell these charts.

If your unit is a Navionics unit, then you might want to consider paying your dealer reprogram the unit to become C-map because Navionics stopped selling this type of chart for most areas.

My unit is a Navionics. How much does it cost to reprogram it? Can I send it to Furuno for this?

Reprogramming normally takes about 7 days turn around and costs $100 or you can contact your local dealer who normally charges about 1 hour labor for this.

In looking at the 1850 manual it seems to me like an explanatiion of how to change the characteristics of an existing mark or line but I do not see how to create the line. I want to make a line from one mark to another. Do you know if there is a way to do this?

Do you have memory allocated to marks? (Changing Memory Capacity page 3-3)
If you have all the memory to tracks then marks will not work.
